Cinnamon Tortilla Chips
On our quest to make the perfect crispy air fryer tortilla chips (they're so good, especially with air fryer roasted salsa), we decided we'd try something fun: coating the chips with cinnamon sugar to make sweet dessert chips!
These air fryer cinnamon sugar chips turned out so delicious, we wound up making another batch that same day. Tasting almost like cookies or crackers instead of tortilla chips, they definitely leave you wanting more when they are gone, and disappear quickly! The first batch had already vanished—you could say we were a little obsessed right away with snacking on them.
Serve these crispy air-fried cinnamon sugar tortilla chips with our sweet fresh fruit salsa on the side, yogurt dip, Mango Pico de Gallo, or simply with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. You can even enjoy them as-is; they taste great without any pairings. Enjoy!

Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chip Ingredients
- Granulated White Sugar and Ground Cinnamon to form your cinnamon sugar mixture
- Kosher Salt: Use kosher salt, not table salt, for these chips. The flavor is much better with kosher salt. You can also use sea salt.
- Butter: We recommend using unsalted butter. If you use salted butter, make sure to omit the salt called for in the recipe, or the chips will be too salty and not have the right amount of sweetness.
- Flour Tortillas: We prefer the flavor of flour tortillas for cinnamon sugar chips, but you can also use corn tortillas and they will taste great.

How to Air Fry Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

Step 1
In a small bowl, whisk granulated white sugar together with ground cinnamon until fully combined.

Step 2
Melt unsalted butter in the microwave, then brush on both sides of each tortilla.

Step 3
Sprinkle cinnamon sugar generously on both sides of each tortilla to fully coat each one.

Step 4
Cut cinnamon sugar tortillas into eight wedges each.

Step 5
Place the tortilla wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You will need to air fry in batches to avoid overlapping any chips. Place the air fryer rack on top. This is very important for air fryer safety to prevent the tortilla wedges from flying up into the heating element.

Step 6
Air fry cinnamon sugar tortilla chips at 350°F for 7 minutes. The air fryer does not need to be preheated. Air fry until they are lightly golden brown and crispy; make sure they don't get too dark!

Step 7
Transfer the chips to a wire rack to cool completely. As they cool, the chips will crisp up even more and get crunchy.

Step 8
Repeat with remaining tortilla wedges until all batches are air fried. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or serve immediately and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
- If using salted butter, omit the added salt called for in the ingredients.
- Check on the chips early until you have a feel for your specific air fryer. The chips will go from perfect to perfectly burnt quickly.
- The chips will get crunchier as they cool.
- Don’t crowd the air fryer basket. Leaving room around each chip allows them to get nice and crispy.
- Cook time may vary depending on your specific air fryer. As always, use the cook time and temperature as a guide until you are more comfortable with your specific brand of air fryer.
- When cooking in multiple batches, be sure to check on the remaining batches early, as they may cook more quickly.
