We made this an easy fruit dip recipe that is completely customizable, so you can make a summer themed dip when it's warm out, or dress it up for the colder months with fall flavors like cinnamon and maple syrup. Pair it with everything from cinnamon tortilla chips to fresh fruit for dipping!

Fruit and Yogurt Dip Ingredients
- Vanilla Yogurt: Use your favorite brand of yogurt. Vanilla yogurt is our favorite for pairing with fruit. You could use other flavors if you like, such as strawberry, or make it a greek yogurt fruit dip. You can even use cream cheese to make fruit dip! Keep reading for a list of some of our recommended variations.
- Brown Sugar: Rather than white sugar, we use brown sugar for this yogurt dip. It has the perfect sweetness and the molasses flavor pairs very well with the flavors of the yogurt and fruit. But, you could also use other sweeteners, like white sugar or honey.
- Pure Vanilla Extract: We're using pure vanilla extract for this fruit dip, but you can use alternatives. Mexican vanilla is a budget-friendly option that offers great flavor.
- Salt: A pinch of kosher salt or sea salt flakes adds a nice contrast to the sweetness of the dip. Be sure to use just a small amount, then taste and adjust if you want to use more.
- Cinnamon (optional): Though optional, a sprinkling of cinnamon on top for garnish adds a nice flavor in addition to a prettier presentation. Cinnamon fruit yogurt dip is wonderful for fall recipes like our apple chips or caramelized banana slices!
- Fresh Fruit (for serving): We love serving this yogurt dip with fruit platters. You can include any fresh fruit you like best, such as raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, strawberries, grapes, apple slices, kiwi, and more.

How to Make Fruit Dip with Yogurt

Step 1
In a bowl, add vanilla yogurt along with brown sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until combined.

Step 2
Give the dip a taste and adjust the flavors to your liking. Cover and refrigerate for several hours until ready to use. When ready to serve, enjoy with a dash of cinnamon and your favorite fruits!
Fruit Dip Variations
- Use Cream Cheese: You can use cream cheese as a base instead of yogurt if you prefer. Soften the cream cheese first so it's easy to handle. You can do this simply by leaving it out for a little while until it's soft, or by using whipped cream cheese that is already soft.
- S'mores Dip: Start with marshmallow fluff instead of yogurt, then serve with chocolate chips and graham crackers for a s'mores-style dip for the summer. Yum!
- Add a Little Lemon: If you like lemon juice or lemon zest, or both, you can add a little to the dip for a pop of citrus flavor. This is great with fresh mint, too. Alternatively, a tiny splash of orange juice will do.
- Nut Butter: You can use a lower fat yogurt and up the fat content by using almond butter or cashew butter. You can also make this a peanut butter yogurt dip either by using your favorite peanut butter, or sunflower seed butter.
Recipe Tips
- Yogurt fruit dip is much tastier after chilling in the fridge, so we recommend you make it ahead of time to refrigerate. It will thicken and develop a greater depth of flavor.
What to Serve with Fruit Dip
Storage Instructions
- Store yogurt fruit dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. We recommend making it a few hours ahead of serving.

FAQ
Absolutely. To make your yogurt dip dairy-free, all you have to do is swap out the yogurt for a dairy-free brand such as Silk. There are many dairy free yogurt options available at most grocery stores that make great substitutes for greek yogurt in dip.
Yes, there are some fruit dip recipes that use sour cream instead of yogurt. Sour cream has a similar flavor profile to greek yogurt. But, they're not identical, so keep in mind the texture and flavor will differ slightly!
Yogurt tends not to freeze well, because it will typically separate when thawed. We recommend you don't freeze this yogurt dip. Thankfully, it's very easy and quick to make fresh!
