How to Air Fry Frozen Taquitos
Using an air fryer model with a tray? See the recipe notes underneath the instructions below. The air fryer needs to be preheated and will require a different cook time if you have a model with a tray and not a basket.
Step 1
Place frozen taquitos in the air fryer basket in a single layer. They should not overlap or they will not air fry properly.
Step 2
Air fry frozen taquitos at 375°F for 7 minutes. The internal temperature of the taquitos should reach 165°F. You can check this with an instant read thermometer.
Step 3
Let air fried taquitos rest for 1 minute, then garnish with fresh herbs and serve with our air fryer salsa for the best flavor. Serve, and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
- Note: The above instructions are for an air fryer model with a basket. If your air fryer is a toaster-oven style air fryer with a tray, such as the Breville Smart Oven Air, then you will need to preheat it to 375°F and air fry frozen taquitos for 10-12 minutes.
- For food safety, the internal temperature of the taquitos must reach 165°F. We recommend you check this using an instant read thermometer.
- Cook time may vary depending on your brand of air fryer, as all brands vary. You may need to adjust the cook time to your specific air fryer.
- When cooking in multiple batches, check on the remaining batches early, as they may cook more quickly.

Storing Leftover Frozen Taquitos
- Store any leftover frozen taquitos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. When ready to enjoy again, reheat in the air fryer for about 3 minutes or until heated through.
FAQ
No, you can use other flavors! Try your favorites, like beef taquitos, bean and cheese taquitos, etc. All flavors will work following our frozen taquitos air fryer instructions.
This recipe can work for homemade frozen taquitos that have already been cooked. Freshly made taquitos will require a different cooking time and instructions. However, here is some advice for air frying homemade taquitos: when making homemade taquitos, always be sure to thoroughly cook any meats used in the taquitos before wrapping them. Corn tortillas or flour tortillas can both be used for wrapping homemade taquitos. Cook them until golden brown, and use a meat thermometer to check the internal temp (never estimate).
