Air Fryer Fried Eggs
Fried eggs are a breakfast classic, but we all know how hard it can be to get breakfast on the table when you're busy! If you step away, they might overcook, or if you don't know how to time them, you might wind up with runnier eggs than you'd like.
In this guide, we'll show you how to make delicious air fryer eggs, no matter what doneness you prefer. From over-hard eggs to sunny side up, air fryer egg recipes don't get any easier than this!
Let's get cracking!
Ingredients

- Unsalted butter: Use unsalted butter, not salted butter, as you will be adding salt to the dish separately! The butter is used to grease the ramekins the eggs cook in. Avoid using a non-stick cooking spray or olive oil, which will alter the flavor and make the eggs become rubbery.
- Large eggs: Farm fresh eggs are an amazing choice if you can find them. They're richer in flavor and make all the difference when cooking eggs!
- Salt: We recommend using kosher salt in every dish when possible. It brings out the flavor of food more effectively than fine table salt.
- (2) 4” ramekins or cake pans: You will need these to contain the eggs as they cook. You don't want them to be too big or the eggs will spread out too much, so 4-inch ramekins or cake pans work best.

Instructions
See Fried Eggs Temps and Times below to adjust to your desired level of doneness.
Over Easy Eggs

Step 1 - Place 1 Tablespoon of butter in each ramekin and place the ramekins in the air fryer basket.

Step 2 - Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (with the ramekins in the basket). Air fry for 2 minutes to melt the butter.

Step 3 - Carefully remove the air fryer basket. Crack an egg onto a small dish, being mindful not to break the yolk. Gently slide the egg into one of the ramekins. Repeat the process with the other egg, placing it in the remaining ramekin.

Step 4 - Close the air fryer basket and set the air fryer temperature to 375°F. Air fry the eggs in the butter for 4 minutes. Note - there's no need to flip the eggs; the top will cook nicely, resulting in a beautiful over easy egg with a runny yolk. If you would like your eggs cooked further, see below for times and temps.

Step 5 - Carefully remove each ramekin from the air fryer basket and transfer the eggs to a serving plate. Season the eggs with salt and pepper to your liking.
Fried Egg Temps and Times
For different levels of doneness, you can adjust the cooking times and temperatures as follows:
- Over Easy: Follow the instructions as written for an over-easy runny egg yolk.
- Over Medium: Air fry at 375°F for 5 minutes. Over medium eggs have a set yolk that is just slightly wet.
- Over Well: Air fry at 375°F for 6 minutes. Over well eggs have a fully set yolk similar to a hard-boiled egg.
Recipe Tips
When making fried eggs in the air fryer, a few key tips can help you achieve the best results:
- Use butter, not cooking oil spray: Using butter is essential to prevent the eggs from sticking and adds a rich flavor to the eggs. Avoid using oil spray, as it can make the eggs stick and become rubbery.
- Ramekin alternatives: If you don't have 4-inch ramekins, you can use any 4-inch round, heat-safe container, such as silicone cups, or even a 4-inch round metal measuring cup with a handle.
- Cook time variations: Cook times may vary depending on your specific air fryer model. Use the provided time and temperature as a guide and adjust as needed for your specific air fryer model.
- Cold air fryer: Time and temperature are based on a cold air fryer. If cooking in multiple batches, be sure to check on the remaining batches early, as they may cook more quickly due to residual heat.
Please note that air fryer brands can vary, so you may need to make adjustments based on your specific air fryer model.
Using a Toaster Oven Style Air Fryer Oven

- Carefully remove the hot ramekins. Crack an egg onto a small dish, being careful not to break the yolk. Carefully slide the egg into one of the ramekins and repeat the process with the other egg.
- Close the air fryer and air fry the eggs at 400°F in the butter for 6 minutes for over easy eggs. No need to flip the eggs; the top will cook nicely, resulting in a beautiful over easy egg with a runny yolk.
- Carefully remove each ramekin from the air fryer and transfer the eggs to a serving plate. Season the eggs with salt and pepper to your liking.

FAQ
It's not recommended to use oil spray for this recipe as it can lead to eggs sticking and becoming rubbery. Butter not only prevents sticking but also adds a delicious flavor to your eggs.
If you don't have 4-inch ramekins, you can use any 4-inch round, heat-safe container like silicone cups or a 4-inch round metal measuring cup with a handle. The key is to have an oven-safe container that can fit in your air fryer, and 4-inch containers work best. Do not use a glass Pyrex container.
Air fryer brands vary, so you may need to adjust the cooking time and temperature based on your specific air fryer model. Use the provided guidelines as a starting point and modify them as necessary.
