Air Fryer Frozen Garlic Bread
Everybody loves a perfect side dish of garlic bread: crispy toast topped with garlic butter spread, herbs, and if you're like us, cheese. (Frozen Texas toast, anyone?) If we're being honest, though, sometimes when you're baking garlic bread from frozen, it turns out unappetizing and soggy in the middle.
Air fryer garlic bread is never soggy. Follow our instructions for air frying garlic bread, and you can make your favorite brand of garlic bread quickly, easily, and better than you've ever had it before. You can air fry garlic bread straight out of the freezer in a cold air fryer!
Ingredients
- Frozen garlic bread: We used Pepperidge Farms frozen garlic bread, but any brand can be used, including cheesy garlic bread. Use your favorite! Bear in mind that some brands, especially cheesy garlic breads, may require more or less cooking time depending on the size and thickness of the bread. However, they will all cook at the same temperature.
- Oil spray: Use a natural oil such as avocado oil or olive oil in a spray bottle. Do not use an aerosol cooking spray with additives, as this can break down the non-stick lining of your air fryer. For more information refer to our comprehensive guide on Air Frying Oils.

Instructions for Air Frying Frozen Garlic Bread

Step 1 - Spray the air fryer basket with oil. Make sure to use oil in a sprayer bottle and not cooking spray.
Alternatively, you could line the air fryer basket with an air fryer parchment paper liner for easy clean-up. See our air frying tools guide.

Step 2 - Carefully slice the garlic bread in half so it will fit in the air fryer basket. Then, place the frozen garlic bread into the air fryer basket in a single layer. We recommend using silicone tongs, always, to avoid scratching the non-stick surface of your air fryer basket.

Step 3 - Air fry frozen garlic bread at 375°F for 8 minutes. When lightly browned and heated through, remove the garlic bread slices from the air fryer to a serving plate. Let it cool a bit, then enjoy! Maybe with a side of our garlic butter dip on the side for extra flavor?
Tips for Air Frying Garlic Bread from Frozen
- Cook from frozen – Do not thaw first.
- You can even use homemade garlic bread you prepared and froze yourself. This makes air frying a great way to prepare leftover garlic bread or make your own ahead of time. Just make sure to use thick slices of bread so the air fryer cooks it with roughly the same timing.
- Cook time may vary depending on your specific air fryer. You may have to adjust the cook time to your specific air fryer. When the garlic bread is lightly golden brown, crisp and heated through, it's done.
- Recipe time and temperature is based on a cold air fryer. If cooking in multiple batches, be sure to check on the remaining batches early, as they may cook more quickly.
Storage Instructions
You can store leftover garlic bread in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or wrapped in foil or plastic wrap.
Reheating
Reheat any leftover garlic bread in the air fryer at 350°F for about 3-5 minutes, or until heated through.
FAQ
Air frying frozen garlic bread takes approximately 8 minutes without preheating, depending on your model of air fryer. If you preheated the air fryer, it may take less time.
For all frozen garlic bread brands, including Texas Toast, air fry at a temperature of 375°F.
Serving Suggestions
- Garlic bread is the perfect accompaniment to your favorite soups and stews. Try it out with tomato soup or broccoli cheddar.
