Equipment

  • 2 4-inch ramekins or cake pans

Ingredients

For the Sausage

  • 2 frozen sausage patties

For the eggs

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the English muffins

  • 2 English muffins split in half
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese thinly sliced

Instructions

Air Fryer Frozen Sausage Patties

  • Place frozen sausage patties in an even layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each patty.
    2 frozen sausage patties
  • Air fry at 400°F for 5 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Carefully remove the cooked sausage patties and set them aside. Keep warm until ready to use (tent with foil if necessary).

Air Fryer Fried Eggs

  • Place butter in each ramekin and add the ramekins to the air fryer basket.
    2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Air fry at 400°F for 2 minutes to melt the butter.
  • Remove the air fryer basket. Carefully crack an egg onto a small dish, being careful not to break the yolk. Carefully slide the egg into one of the ramekins. Repeat with the other egg, sliding it into the remaining ramekin.
    2 large eggs
  • Close the air fryer basket and set the temperature to 375°F. Air fry the eggs in the butter for 4 minutes for over easy eggs with a runny yolk (see tips below if you prefer them cooked further). You do not need to flip the eggs; the top of the egg will cook perfectly for a runny over-easy egg.
  • Carefully remove each ramekin - they will be very hot - from the air fryer basket and keep warm until ready to use. Season eggs to taste.
    Salt and pepper to taste

Air Fryer English Muffins

  • Place English muffins into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
2 English muffins split in half
  • Air fry at 400°F for 4 minutes - no need to flip.
  • Place 1 slice of cheese on the bottom half of each English muffin. Close the air fryer and allow the cheese to melt. No need to turn the air fryer back on; the residual heat will melt the cheese quickly.
    2 slices cheddar cheese
  • Remove from the air fryer and start assembling your sandwiches!

Notes

  • Cook sausage patties from frozen – do not thaw first.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. If you're making multiple sandwiches, cook in batches if you have to.
  • To reduce cook time, we recommend placing the English muffins in the air fryer basket at the same time as the sausage. Alternatively, you can toast them in a toaster oven or traditional toaster while the eggs cook.
  • Air frying eggs: Using butter is an important ingredient to keep the eggs from sticking, but it also helps keep the eggs from getting rubbery and adds great flavor, too! We do not recommend using oil spray for this recipe, as the eggs tend to stick and get rubbery.
  • Cook time may vary depending on your specific air fryer model and size. You may need to adjust the timing according to your model.
  • Recipe time and temperature is based on a cold air fryer. If cooking multiple batches, check on them early, as they will cook more quickly than the first batch.
  • See post above for fried egg cooking times!
