Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Spaghetti Squash halved and seeded (one small squash so it will fit in your air fryer when cut in half)
  • 1 Tablespoon oil such as avocado or olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Parmesan Cheese optional
  • Parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  • Cut stem end off of the squash.
    2 lb Spaghetti Squash
  • Cut the squash in half lengthwise using a sharp knife, and spoon the pulp and seeds out. You can discard the pulp and seeds, or save the seeds for roasting separately.
  • Brush oil over the inside halves of the spaghetti squash.
    1 Tablespoon oil
  • Mix salt, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and black pepper together. Sprinkle both halves evenly with the seasoning mixture.
½ teaspoon kosher salt, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning, ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Carefully place spaghetti squash, cut-side up, in the preheated air fryer basket. Air fry 20-25 minutes, or until squash is fork-tender.
  • Transfer to a dish and fluff with a fork to create noodles.
  • Top with Parmesan cheese and garnish with parsley, if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Cut your squash in half as equally as possible to ensure both halves cook evenly.
  • If you are using a larger squash, you will need to add more air frying time to ensure it cooks thoroughly.
  • The texture of cooked spaghetti squash can vary based on how long it's cooked. Cooking it for a shorter time will result in firmer, more "al dente" strands, while this recipe will yield softer, more noodle-like strands.
  • Cook time for this recipe is based on a preheated air fryer. If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheat function, just set the temperature on your air fryer to 375°F for 5 minutes to preheat it.
  • Cook time may vary depending on your specific air fryer model, as all brands are different. As always, use the cook time and temperature as a guide until you are more comfortable with your specific brand of air fryer.
  • If cooking in multiple batches, be sure to check on the remaining batches early, as they may cook more quickly.
  • See the main post for instructions for toaster oven style air fryers.
